For more than 35 years, La Alpujarra has hosted its annual Craft, Tourism and Organic Farming Fair, an event held in autumn with the aim of promoting both the region and its traditional producers. Over four days, the fair showcases local crafts, organic farming and gastronomy.
Among other things, typical local products are on display, including organic produce and artisan goods. Visitors can take part in workshops on pottery, textiles, wickerwork, and crafts such as bracelet making, puppet making, and drawing.
A fair that seeks to ‘vindicate the role of historical heritage and sustainable tourism in the face of rural depopulation’.
Over the weekend, more than 12,000 people visit La Alpujarra municipality to enjoy local products, its people and its extraordinary natural surroundings.
It is usually held during the second week of October each year.
