La Alpujarra Wine

La Alpujarra Wine

The altitude, at 1,000 metres, gives La Alpujarra wine a distinctive character, good acidity and a powerful flavour. The location of the vineyards means that the grapes take longer to ripen, with a climate that offers little rainfall and porous, slate-rich soil having a decisive influence on the wines produced.

‘Vino de la Tierra en La Alpujarra’, renowned for its quality and appreciation, includes three designations: in addition to Vino de la Tierra de la Contraviesa – Alpujarra (Granada), there is Vino de la Tierra Laujar – Alpujarra (Valle del Laujar, Almería) and Vino de la Tierra Ribera del Andrax (more than 20 municipalities in the province of Almería).
