In the Barranco del Poqueira (Poqueira Ravine), in the heart of La Alpujarra, a large part of the municipal area forms part of the Sierra Nevada National Park.
Pampaneira is located 1,058 metres above sea level, in a rugged setting surrounded by beautiful mountainous scenery, from where you can see the peaks of Mulhacén and Veleta.
Various hiking trails of varying difficulty levels start from the village, allowing you to enjoy nature and the open air, and reach viewpoints with spectacular views.
